Natureways Explorer Safaris are semi participatory and come with a fully qualified canoe guide who will navigate you down the great Zambezi. He will take care of the cooking, washing up and other camp tasks and being semi participatory, guests are free to help. Each Safari covers a different section on the Zambezi River each offering a unique experience in terms of scenery and wildlife for the individual intrepid explorer. Natureways believes in sustainable tourism and are aware of the delicate environment in which they operate. All Safaris are Eco friendly, they believe in leaving each campsite as nature made it.

Marula Canoe Safari
Kariba to Chirundu - 3 Days / 2 Nights - The Marula Safari starts 8km below the Kariba dam wall and ends in Chirundu covering a total of 59km from start to finish. The safari will travel 18km through the Kariba Gorge which is narrow and steep sided, after the Gorge the terrain opens up offering an abundant variety of bird life and antelope, occasionally elephants and buffalo have be seen on this stretch of the river.
Fisheagle Canoe Safari
Kariba to Mana Pools - 6 days / 5 Nights - The Fisheagle Safari starts from Kariba, 8 km down stream from the Kariba Dam Wall and ends in Mana Pools National Park The Safari as a whole covers approximately 130 km from start to finish. Each day an average of 21.5 km will be paddled, however don’t let this daunt you, the current of the river will do most of the work for you so relax and take in the magnificent surroundings.
Tamarind Canoe Safari
Chirundu to Mana Pools - 4 Days / 3 Nights - The Tamarind Safari is our most popular expeditionary safari beginning in Chirundu and ending in Mana Pools National Park, which is a World Heritage Site. The game seen on this section of the Zambezi is superb as the flood plains offer wildlife an extraordinary place to thrive in the parks sanctuary.
Mopane Canoe Safari
Mana Pools to Chawore - 4 Days / 3 Nights - Our Mopane Safari begins in Mana Pools and explorers the shoreline of the National Park up to Chewore. The safari travels 70 km of the impressive Zambezi River. Mana Pools National Park.
Zambezi Classic Short Canoe Safari
Chirundu to Kanyemba - 8 days / 7 nights - The Zambezi Classic Short will definitely get you into the spirit of an exploring pioneer. This canoe safari covers 182 km of the Zambezi River all the way from the border town of Chirundu through the floodplains of the Zambezi and past the shoreline of Mana Pools National Park. Guests will then enter a 20 km stretch of amazing red cliffs called the Mupata Gorge. and will end their safari a few kilometres on the other side of the Gorge at Kanyemba. Encounter all the different species of flora and fauna the Lower Zambezi has to offer.
Zambezi Classic Long Canoe Safari
Kariba to Kanyemba - 10 days / 9 nights -The Zambezi Classic Long is the longest safari Natureways has to offer, it stretches over 2 National Parks, 4 designated sections of the Zambezi and covers 230 km, each day an average of 23 km will be paddled. Once past Mana Pools gests will canoe into the Mupata Gorge with its spectacular geographical features of red cliffs. The Zambezi Classic Long Safari allows guests to feel at one with nature and to capture the essence of Africa.
