Situated adjacent to Masuma dam picnic site in the heart of Hwange National Park, the largest park in Zimbabwe, Kapula is a stone’s throw away from the Victoria Falls/Kasane/Kariba tourist hub. The park occupies roughly 15 000km2 in the North-West corner of the country and can be easily accessed from Botswana, South Africa and Zambia. Kapula Private Camp is situated on the Kapula Vlei, which is frequented by wildlife. Both camps have viewing platforms within the living areas on which to sit back and watch the game.
There are two camps to choose from- North Camp or South Camp. North camp has 4 luxury en-suite tents on wooden platforms and one en-suite guides tent, with a kitchen, lounge and a viewing deck.
North Camp facility will be shared by two parties if Option A or Option B is booked separately. If Option C is booked then the guests will have exclusive use of the main building and all other facilities.
South Camp has 4 en-suite tents on slabs with a combined main building and viewing platform and separate kitchen. We have one family tent, located in view of the main living areas.
South Camp tents can be booked as individual units. If there is more than one party in camp guests will have to share the facilities.
Both camps are attended by friendly staff that service the rooms, main building and clean the firepit and kitchen daily. The staff are also happy to recommend suitable game-drive routes.
During the full moon you can expect spectacular moonlit game viewing from your tent deck in North Camp and the lounge area in South Camp. With over 400 bird species, the summer months from November to May are a special treat for the avid bird watcher.
Game sighting is excellent in the dry winter months from June to October. There are several rewarding game drive routes within the concession, which are strictly for guests.
These include scenic routes around Masuma Dam (via the old borehole) and Bumbumutsa pan. Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog and several antelope species are frequently spotted on these roads.
